Close friends are well aware of how heavily active I am on Instagram, so in the last couple of days they've reached out via text asking for my opinion on the company's recent TOS changes. I wish I had something profound to share but unfortunately I don't mostly because I haven't taken the news as personal as other users have.
Quite frankly, I really don't care much about the changes. In the end, I'll continue to use Instagram as incessantly as I have been this past year and more than likely I won't link or write about this topic again in view that anything anyone can say about it has become incredibly redundant.
Christian Cannon (@seacannon) has for me pretty much summed up how I feel about the entire announcement:
I knew it would come, I mean how does a free app continue to grow as a business without making any money? All I know is that this app has been so great to me and allowed me to grow as a photographer and build such an awesome community and I'm in debt to it.
Should they want to use my photos for any reason, I would be honored, compensation or not, because taking photos is not about who is behind the camera but rather what is in front of it. All in all there's no way I'm getting off this app and I won't flood my pictures with water marks either! For those who are leaving, you will be missed!
