On Taking Pictures is the only photography related podcast I listen to consistently. I'm well aware others do exist but not many really seem to stick after a few weeks of tuning in.
New York based photographer Robert Caplin recently launched The Photo Brigade Podcast which judging from his first guest alone and the topics discussed, I'm declaring prematurely that I believe this podcast is a keeper. Vincent Laforet is considered a pioneer both for his innovative tilt-shift and aerial photography and during the show, I love the advice he had for us upcoming photographers:
- If you get good ideas and you can find a way to execute them well, you're going to be doing really, really well.
- It never hurts to go to a workshop or to a talk or to assist someone, you just soak in information, you learn stuff and go to fields that are not yours.
- Go study your failures not your successes when you make a mistake.
Regardless of how many books you may read or photographs you may see, there's always room for audio inspiration like this.
