I would say I've had several perfectly satisfactory experiences meeting new people who've I've at the outset befriended online. There's this opinion that meeting new people can always be an enriching experience in view that they can have a novel worldview that will spark and revive our own attitude towards life and so I like to go with that idea.
Life doesn't always introduce you to the people you want to meet but as I had mentioned before, there's certainly the option to reach out to a select few and you realize that life happens when you walk away from your computer.
Joel was among the first local Brooklyn photographers I met up with roughly a year go. I had the opportunity for a quick encounter once again where we caught up on life and photography as we explored a particular area of Bushwick that I stumbled upon earlier in the year.
On another note, Bushwick Open Studio (BOS) is coming up on May 31st - June 2nd and it's essentially a 3-day culture festival that celebrates the community's vibrant local art scene where you can not only view beautiful work but more importantly meet the artist themselves along with their workspace.
I'm planning to be touring the scene on Saturday June 2nd and so is Joel along with Jose Tutiven and if you're in the area and wish to meet up, feel free to reach out to me so we can continue this whole affair of meeting new people.
