On The 4th of July

The 4th of July is here again and although I don’t precisely recall what I may have done last year to celebrate other than taking part in customary family BBQ’s, I can legitimately state that it would be difficult to overlook how this year’s independence day began.

There was a constant theme of serenity at the beach with the feeling that you were the only ones there. It’s incredible to be in such a pristine environment at 6 a.m in the morning. If you don’t have a pair of friends who are as intrepid and bold as you may be when it comes to doing what you have to do to be at a certain place to photograph then I highly suggest you find a few.

I met up with Jose Tutiven and Tina Berardi early morning to venture around Fort Tilden in Queens to catch up on life as always and mostly importantly to enjoy and fuse the enthusiasm that we have for making photographs.
