16 Things Photographers Should Know

It’s ok to be scared. Every time I land a new shoot, I freak out for a minute about whether or not I can do it. Then I just buck up and go do it. It’s good to be scared, most of the time. If you’re not, you may not be pushing yourself hard enough.

Helena Price is among one of my favorite commercial/lifestyle photographers who I consistentaly draw inspiration from, particularly in her portraits and to be able to read this candid statement from her solidifies the fact that not everyone has this photography sh*t figured out. The senstive part for me when it comes to shoots is the layer of uneasiness that kicks in the moment I'm being compensated for a job as oppose just me doing it pro-bono or for myself. Either way, I guess it's still good to be nervous at any level regardless of your proficiency.
