Eric Kim's Advice to His 18-Year Old Self

...work on projects, not single images. Realize that single images are well suited for social media and getting lots of Favorites and Likes. But projects are going to define you. Projects will give you focus. Projects will help take your photography to the next level. And realize projects are going to take a long time. A good project is going to take at least 2 years, so be patient.

No novel advice here but one that's certainly pivotal to amassing a top-notch body of work that would propel you to leaving behind photographs that are more likely to be remembered. The straighforward analogy I came up with between working on photo projects and publishing one-off images is like recording an album and putting out singles. The former takes more time but as Eric stated, it would define you more as an artist.
