As much emails as I receive asking what my photography workflow looks like from capture to publishing using Lightroom, I’m hesitant to write anything that contributes to the already voluminous information available on the subject.
Initially you don’t even realize you have a workflow until you start shooting and processing more often and it’s a practice you want to establish early on. Dealing with an enormous amount of unorganized photos could be frighting and time consuming and I would personally want to place more emphasis on being behind a camera rather than in front of a computer.
With the exception of a few functions, my workflow isn’t any different from what Thomas Hawk does. In all the emails I’ve responded to regarding this topic, I’ve always included a link back to this article. As far as file structure goes, I follow the exact organization that Fraser Speirs does but in Lightroom 3 of course.
